Local Wombat State Forest has raw rock faces to scale and an absolute abundance of wildlife to observe.

Beautiful Hepburn Regional Park offers old gold digging sites to visit and winding bush tracks to explore where you will find its famous mineral springs along the way. Located around the famous mineral springs townships of Hepburn Springs and Daylesford - where you will find natural mineral springs and left over relics of the gold mining era set in beautiful bush surroundings.

The Goldfields track is a point to point 210km track stretching from Ballarat through to Bendigo. It passes through some of the regions most historic towns and most beautiful forests, including Creswick Daylesford Hepburn Springs and Castlemaine. The track was constructed over 150 years ago and is well known amongst cyclers and walkers today. The whole track can be split up to suit your level of fitness.

The Wallaby Track takes you from Mt Buninyong through to Daylesford and is for fit competent riders as its approx 90km and it can be completed in 1 day. Keen mountain bikers and history buffs love the "Dry Diggings" section of the trail from the Chocolate Mill through to Vaughan Springs and then on to Castlemaine.

Wombat Forest Track is located near Woodend where theres 100 km of purpose built single track winding through beautiful forest land. Built by the local Wombat Mountain Bike Club - these trails suit beginners through to experienced expert riders and its accessible year round.

Macedon Regional Park over 400 species of native plants have been recorded in the Macedon Regional Park and more than 20 species of birds and a wide variety of mammals can be found there including koalas kangaroos swamp wallabies wombats possums echidnas large lizards and gliders. There are many different tracks to walk through and explore - its amazing to see and hear the birdlife - they are so vocal.

Harcourt (La Larr Ba Gauwa Park) this track is best for experienced mountain bikers however it does have easier tracks for the beginner. It is a well known world class cycling destination built by the team at DirtArt - the trails make the most of the hilly granite countryside....

Creswick Creswick is the next mountain biking mecca - with its 100 km trail network and its top notch pump track it is arguably the best in Australia!
